Re: Long & Mid Belly Lines, Am I Alone Here?

I started with skagits and scandis. I will use them when needed, but the lines that are on the reels, not the spare spools, are the longer heads. I've got two FF35s on 5 and 6 wt switches which I'd...

Re: Vision ace 365 grain 30.5' long scandi head

There are a couple of shops that handle them. Google will find them for you. I got mine from Helsinki Speyclave. Yes, it is in Finland, but they carry the full line of Vision products and they...

Re: Scott and Winston Rods

I have fished both Scott and Winston rods (SH) for years. Lately, I have moved to all Scott, both SH and DH. Looks are only skin deep and the rods are excellent performers. The Scott family has...

Hardy LRH Extra Spools (2 available)

I have these spools for sale. One is definitely Korean-made, the other I'm not sure about, it could be British. But, both are in good shape and fit either British or Korean-made reels. Priced to...

Re: Echo 3 switch VS Scott L2H switch

I own two L2S Scotts, predecessors of the L2H. The finish and fit of these rods makes me think I paid a lot more for them than I did. I have owned many Scott rods and have never been disappointed...

Re: What line to use for this setup?

I like the Airflo lines, but I'd suggest a DT. First, it will last twice as long because it is reversible. Second, it roll casts a lot better. Third, it loads a lighter weight rod more as you need...

Re: Abel or Hatch

I can't speak about Hatch; I've never used one or even held one. I have been in and out of Abels twice. I'm currently on the out cycle, except for a Spey and extra spool for it. The "Nut" issue is...

Re: What do you think is the perfect rod for nymph/dry fly?

The Scott G2 8'4" 5 wt is a great dry fly rod and works very well for nymphing. The G2 8'8" is just the reverse, better for nymphing, not quite as good for dries. Either is better than anything...

For Sale: Beulah Classic 7'6" 3 Wt Rod

This the Guide series with an extra tip. Medium action and feels very much like a Scott G or Winston WT, both of which I have cast. I simply don't fish a 3 wt enough to keep it around. It is...

Re: best shooting line?

I like Varivas for the lighter heads and the Airflo lines for heavier heads. I've tried amnesia and am not a fan. As the weather gets colder, I may not like Varivas as much, time will tell.

Re: Looking for Scott G 3 weight fly rod

A lot of us are looking for one and kicking ourselves for not keeping them when we had them. I had a G883/3 and a MMT6103/3 and foolishly sold them both. Oh how I wish I had them back.
