Re: Idaho Small Streams Part 2

Maybe it's the age I've reached and find that I can no longer wade the big rivers comfortably, let alone safely, but small streams are appealing—especially when they hold fish such as these you've...

Re: First Tiger Trout

Nice fish and photos. I've looked for them in some of the mountain streams in NV but have not been fortunate enough to hook one, let alone release one.

Thanks for the vicarious experience.

Re: Southfork Snake River

Yep, in the mid-60s I "toured" the computer room at the Naval PG School in Monterey, California. I suppose all that hardware has been turned in to scrap metal now. During the '70s I carried my MINOX...

Re: Idaho High Valleys

Lovely report.

Dare I ask for details about the route? I promise to tear the message into tiny 'bytes', digest it, and then dispose of the after-product in a safe manner far from prying eyes. :D

Re: Southfork Snake River

I'll add another compliment on the photos. It boggles my mind what can be done on those little phones by someone competent, this poster excepted.

Great that you had such a good trip. We'll be over...

I, too, am a big fan of Doig—even before he was the commencement speaker at our daughter's college graduation in '87. (Ooops, if you read this, Annie, I didn't mean to disclose your age. ;) )

Re: High flows in the Bitterroot. I'd guess this is not the only one.

I was just pulling your leg.

We looked at the Hoback a couple of weeks ago and saw evidence that it was building.

Smith River MT

Here's a report that appeared today in the Idaho Statesman about a float on the Smith in April. Sorry if I'm preempting a member's first-person post. If so, alert me and I'll take it down.

^^ "...that will add fuel to the fire".

Should we assume you're referring to the fuel in your furnace?? :-)

Re: Looks like you can skip fishing off the Oregon coast for the next couple of days.

We cut our visit over to Yachats short owing to the weather. I've been blown off the water before (FL Keys; Belize; numerous western rivers) but this time we just said "Let's go!" and came back home....

Thanks for posting that information. Only last night I was setting in motion plans for a trip into the Driggs area.

I almost never touch a fish I...
