Re: Exploring the Rockies

Wow thanks for the info! I know how that road can be from others but didn't know you would be charged less just for fishing. That's nice! Thanks again for the info. I'll try to get up there sometime...

Re: Exploring the Rockies

Do you have to get online to get the $15/day permit to go to North Catamount? I've lived her for about 16 years and have never gone up there. :surprise:

Re: Casting cutthroat leaders

Thanks for chiming in! I will try to pay more attention to my stopping actions next time I am out. I do like the delicate presentation the leaders give and again the no memory. Great product, I just...

Re: Casting cutthroat leaders

That sounds exactly like what I was experiencing. I was fishing dries the entire time. On my longer casts that had power they worked great, but the shorter casts, to avoid catching a tree bass, would...

Casting cutthroat leaders

So I bought a couple of the cutthroat threaded furled leaders. I love that they have absolutely no memory! My issue is when casting, I can only get a couple "good" casts with them, the rest of the...

Re: What to expect from a guide?

When I started out and got a guide they would bring all the gear for you if you didn't have your own to use. They shouldn't fish at all and they should be paying attention to you and showing you how...

Re: Beginner Combo

I just got into the sport about 3 years ago. I didn't know if I was going to want to really get into so I, like you, didn't want to spend a ton of money to see if I was going to like it or not. I...

Re: Brush Hollow Res.

The perch were fun! Reminded me of when I was my kids' age and using a worm and bobber. The bass was a lot more fun though :)

The electronic free thing works great to get the kids out of the house...

Brush Hollow Res.

I was finally able to get a little fishing in this weekend. I went with my father and brother-in-law to Brush Hollow Reservoir. I didn't bring my waders (wish I would have) but was able to get the...

Re: Wilson Lake first time

Thank you! I also did some searching and basically found you can use about the same flies as you do for trout. Big hoppers, streamers and the such. I need to pick up a few more larger flies but I...

Re: South Beaver Creek, Thursday April 28th

So instead of Beaver creek, you fished Boulder creek instead? I was just confused because the title says Beaver creek and in the post it says Boulder Creek.

Nice fish though! Great job

Re: I have $350 to spend...which rod?

I would find a local fly shop and go cast a few rods, as most everyone will say, you don't pick the rod, the rod picks you!

Although I do have my eye on an Orvis Recon $425 but that doesn't mean...

Re: RIO Trout LT (WF)

I'm no expert by any means but from looking at that and what you had said, I would think you would have a tougher time casting the first 20 to 28 feet since the 146 gr is towards the back. But who...
