Alot of guys realy like the st. Croix, but the clearwater is a great rod as well. I have not cast the imperial, but I would not hesitate to recommend the clearwater.

In my opinion, for the kind of fishing I do in mountain streams (hiking, rockhopping, climbing) I would probably go woth a rod other than a bvk, The bvk seems to be a fairly fragile rod from others...

would you still perscribe a 7 weight? Or a 5 or 6 weight switch. Asking as I have heard that switch and spey rods are heavier rods for a given weight than their one handed counterparts.
