These are being sold as outfits as the rod, reel and fly line are very balanced to...

Re: if you fish streamers do you tandem?

Yes, often. Some of the waters that I fish are fairly slow moving and very very clear. The trout are often midging or cruising around so I fish a size 14 dark olive woolybuggar tied with a soft...

Re: New to Spey rods, potentially relocating to Seattle area.

Thanks for the great input everyone, there's a 13'6 Scott 7wt that has my eye. Now I just have to get the green light on the relocation and if salmon become of interest (they will) then I could pick...

Re: Dogs and fishing

I have a couple pooches, both I love very much- neither would be a good choice for fishing companion regardless of how much I want it to be.

One of mine is a 10lb-ish MinPin- she's a black and...

Re: Closest place to Oklahoma for some steelhead ?

Yep- that's steelheading. Certainly there are going to be days where you do exceptional but most often it is far far from a numbers game. In terms of Great Lakes, I have caught as many fall run...

Re: New to Spey rods, potentially relocating to Seattle area.

Thanks for the input Randy-

My guess is that for winter steelheading I will be using an eight weight Skagit setup to carry the heavier sink tip and bigger winter flies and the six weight would be...

Re: Winston 7'6" - BIIt or WT?

I grew up fishing Winston IM6 graphite and love it. I now have a 7'6 3wt GVX and have no desire to change. Granted I have many 3 wieghts to choose from so I have no position to judge.....

Re: 3 wt question/advice needed.

I have a 7'6 3wt and a couple 9' 3wts and when able I will go for the longer choice. The 7'6 is great for tight quarters and even on the tightest stretches I have never wished it to be shorter.

Re: My Old Fishing Vest;

Cool vest Ard, I too had a Stream Designs vest, in classic old man tan of course. Ah the early years, when I had more hair on my head and less in my ears- youth is wasted on the young.

The main reason, I will forever be romanced by landscapes. Mountain peaks, glacial valleys, right down to the river stones polished oval by eons of hurriedly moving water. After that, the culture...
