Re: 2013 Swap #4: Wet Flies; soft hackles, flymps, winged wets.

I received the flies today and can't WAIT to give them a try. I must say Larry, I have no idea how the postal system destroyed the case I shipped them to you in. I'm just glad they arrived intact and...

Re: 2013 Swap #4: Wet Flies; soft hackles, flymps, winged wets.

I'd forgotten that I had posted that picture of the Partridge and Orange until I attached this most recent set. I believe it was from a fly swap about 2 years ago. I fish a lot of soft hackles or...

Re: Little Juniata River Central Pa

I've fished sections up around Barree and also up above the Spruce Creek junction. And, I must say I've had a few absolutely awesome days on it. Of course there are also the frustrating ones.

Re: 2013 Swap #4: Wet Flies; soft hackles, flymps, winged wets.

Perfect! Thank you. I'll give you a pattern shortly. It'll be a soft-hackle of some type but I'll be more specific in a day or so.

Re: 2013 Swap #4: Wet Flies; soft hackles, flymps, winged wets.

This is what happens when I don't check things out for a few days. It looks like this swap is full.. if not, I'm in. If full I'll catch the next one.

Re: Wet / Streamer Tie-Along?

Hi.. I"ve been invisible for quite a while but if there's room left in this tie-along I'd like to jump on board.

Re: Central PA. Wet fly trip

Truth be, I didn't notice any biting insect issues at all; I was wearing a 'buzz off' shirt but doubt that had any bearing on it. There were no bugs, but unfortunately, except for the sulphur...

So many thanks to you all. I am going to practice the casting technique and also look up that streamer pattern. And, I'm about an hour and 15 minutes from state college pocono so it would be no...

Re: Central PA. Wet fly trip

Thanks Hardyreels; If I'm visualizing this correctly it's almost like nymphing, where at the end of the drift, you lift your line and leader out of the water and flip it back upstream and run it...

Re: Central PA. Wet fly trip

We started fishing Spring about 3 o'clock. My son and I landed 3 on our first 3 casts ( I got one really nice brookie), then it got a little slow; we picked up one here and there until about dark. I...

Re: Easiest loop dubbing method

I'm not versed in posting online videos but the fur dubbing is pretty easy. I just use a very tacky dubbing wax and apply it to the top inch or so of thread. I use pine squirrel zonker strips and...

Re: Easiest loop dubbing method

My best success has been with the integrated loop as cliff lays out in the opening post. The same process works quite well for spinning fur hackles as descriped in Dave Hughes book 'wet flys'. In...
