Re: Xi3 8wt + Allen Kraken 3?

No experience but I do have thoughts... I've fished the Xi3 in 5 and 6 weights. Both were fantastic. I wouldn't let the hype about the SALT dissuade me from buying one, especially at the discounted...

Re: Classic Trout Half Off

Not exactly an answer to your question, but I just lined my 9' 4wt with a Hook & Hackle DT4 high floater and it casts wonderfully. For around $30 shipped, I think it's a wonderful value.

Re: Classic Trout Half Off

They certainly are a great value, especially when they're on sale like this... I have the 9' 4wt and love it as an all around trout/ blue gill rod.

Re: Got a new rod in today and had a question

If you check the paper that was on the handle, it says the rod comes with a 1 yr manufacturers warranty. I think you have to ship it back to them? May be easier to deal with the retailer. If it's...

Re: Help on buying a youth rig

Sierra Trading Post has several rod/reel combos from Redington and others available right now, if you sign up for their email, I think they send you a 30% off coupon. Not sure if there's anything...

Re: Vintage reel questions

I use a "Crystal River Coachman" on my 7' 5/6 FL... It was the first reel I ever owned, as part of a combo from walmart that probably only cost about $30 for rod, reel, line, pack of flies about 15...

Re: Vintage reel questions

Yeah, those CFOs are beautiful, as are the Hardy's, but they don't really belong on a Feather Light!

Re: Who's using the Tapatalk App??

I use it on my phone for this and several other forums.

One of the best things is it makes posting pictures I've taken on my phone (which is 99.99% of all my pictures) dramatically easier. If I...

Re: Which Hair Floats Better??

Not exactly an answer to your question, but some guys recently made an excursion of mousing on the deleware and later shared the pattern and recipe of the fly that worked best for them. Here's the...

Carp In the Triad area of NC?

Hey everyone,

Long story short, I've been chasing carp for about 2 years with only 1 hook up to show for it. I live near Greensboro, NC, and my biggest problem is finding them in water where I can...

Re: Airflo 40+

I have this one on my 8wt Vapen. It is a very good line for reaching out and touching something a good ways off.

Re: Beginner Rod & Reel Outfit
