Re: Best tent camping/ fishing in Colorado

The Dream Stream and Tomahawk, along with Cheeseman and Elevenmile canyons, are not back country at all. Drive right up to 'em, and close to Denver. The reason I suggested leaving them alone right...

Re: Best tent camping/ fishing in Colorado

My 2c:

Save the DS and T-hawk for spring run-off, when other streams are crappy.

For camping/hiking, look around Durango. I'll be heading down to the Conejos on the 25th..........

Re: Up or Down is One Better Than The Other

Cast UPSTREAM, dead drift and I mean DEAD DRIFT downstream. (End R. Lee Ermey voice)

Walk a few steps upstream, repeat.

This is the Colorado way.

Re: fishing emergers

I'm with comeonavs- I know what they're hitting if I just caught one.

Fish don't always rise clear to the surface after emergers. Quite often, they'll take the bugs right off the bottom. I've...

Lived w/o TV for 10+ years, read a bunch, and loved it. Now I work for a satellite TV company, so I get near everything free! Still nothing on worth watching.

Comercials? I still don't know what...

Re: Fly Rod Car Carriers

Um, to pick a nit.......

Don't we want to store the rod with the reel up? This would put the weight of the rod/reel on the spine of the rod, not the guides. I keep thinking of going over bumps in...

Re: a frenchi seeking for advices to fish colorado

Welcme, Frenchi,

You realize that you now have a nickname? Get comfortable with it!

Bring your own rods, if you can. You are familiar with them, so you can concentrate on the fishing. You...

Re: Best private water Colorado

Yes, RMAC has a membership fee, then daily rod fees. First year is pretty steep, not so bad after that. I only use it 5 or so times a year myself. Worth it? I'll renew next year................

Re: Single Hand Spey Cast help

I thought you needed to Spey cast on water to establish an anchor? I didn't think grass would "grip"?

Spey casting isn't like flicking back and forth. It's a process. I have to SLOW DOWN!!!! It...

Re: Faster rod or slower rod in this situation?

Whichever rod YOU cast better. It's less about the rod, more about the fisherman.

Re: You have to be 'my age' to understand this age.

The caption says Central park 2006. Looks more like '83, when I saw them in Giants Stadium.

Re: How long should commercial flies last?

In most of my fishing dreams (daydreams?:icon_redf) I catch fish large enough that I must change flies after every one!

Torn up flies is not necesarily a bad thing.

Re: Best private water Colorado

For the best info on any RMAC properties, go to the website. On the homepage, then look for Property Descriptions. Click on one(I believe Silverthorne is in NW, section C), a new page will pop up....

Re: The computer in front of you.

At work, it's powerful thing networked to the hilt.

At home, all I do is surf the web. A tablet (IPad) does the job just fine.
