When I cast my first glass rod it was like reinventing the wheel to me... Casting of all kinds became easier... Honestly casts better in the wind than stiff graphite... Roll/spey casts easily... And...

St Croix Imperial 7'6 4wt or Redington CT 8' 3wt... Both can do it all on the small streams here in the driftless... IMHO the Imperial shines with a wf4f gpx line... A half heavy line but I do like...

Pine slows down in the summer. Though there's usually great action to be had on it at dusk. Did really good on it this spring.

That middle one looks like a bakelite reel... Is it metal or feel like a plastic?

I agree the top is an OC or possibly a meisselbach or some similar knockoff... If there's a badge on the back...

Dunno where you heard this but it's not a worry... Most bamboo will handle 3 or more line weights without problems depending on what's trying to be done and the caster's technique.
