ive been doing some research on the UL category and this has been some good help for me. lots of good reviews on that echo carbon 2wt, can pick a whole combo with line off cabelas for 225, not bad...

here is my 2nd attempt here. i had some chenille in wire that i used. it called for lead wire anyways so i figured id hit it at the same time. im sure it will rust, but thats fine.

Thanks for the help. You are 100% correct on what was going on. Tons of strikes but only 3 hook ups. Managed to catch 2 blue gills and 1 perch. I ended up taking it off as it was starting to fall...

45 minutes to the nearest tailrace for wild trout and salmon when they run

20 to 50 minutes for anything else, warm water and such.

Honestly I dont know what they were called, it was a little black one with rubber legs, and I had some luck with a very tiny one with copper wire on it. As you can see my fly vocabulary is pretty low...

So I was looking at the game and fish site for our state and found this little pond that I didnt know about that was about 20 miles away. It said it was full of perch, bluegill and rainbow stockers....

the floating line is a CABELAS PRESTIGE WF6F FLYLINE which is the line I usually use. The full sink line is a Cortland 333+ WF Sinking Fly Line. They are both new this year. Ive only used the full...

Does the type of line really make a big difference when casting? I have this full sinking line that casts like a dream, barely have to even try to get it out there and then there is this floating...

ive been doing fine with my 9' 6wt, but i dont think ive caught anything bigger than a 6 or 7 lber. I just bought this stuff called knot 2 kinky for my bite gaurds and it seems to work pretty good.

want to catch your first fish on a fly? find lake with northern pike, start casting, start reeling in pike. its really that easy at least it was for me and it is a lot of fun.

my mom raises sheep, turkeys, chickens and pheasants, i hunt and have plenty of hunter friends who also trap. once i get used to things i should have plenty of materials to work with i would think....
