Re: Hardy Duchess Question

looking closely, I notice the name "The Duchess" and the size engraved on the back. The only picture that I have seen of a Duchess is on the Hardy website and that is a 4". I see that the drag...

Re: The (Un)Official Sage Mod Thread

I not sure what's happening with the" less weight" factor in fly rods. Is this a marketing idea, indicating that we have all been DE masculinized to the point that we must have "fairy wands" in order...

Re: Hardy Duchess Question

Me too, just can't get over the fact that I will have to pay an additional 35% when taking into account the exchange rate for the US dollar! :(

Re: Not related with flyfishing....but thanks a lot guys

From what I have read, the first individual to get involved with the terrorist was the young French banker (Damien A.) who doesn't want to be named. The second (professor) was shot in the neck but...

Re: We are all brothers!

You just got to be kidding, not in my lifetime and not with my brothers. We are all brothers from another mother as they say around here. My brothers are pretty tight with their favorite "honey...

Re: Not related with flyfishing....but thanks a lot guys

Amazing and an impressive story. It took six individuals to finally subdue this man. The initial attempts to take this individual out were by a young French banker and secondly by a AM-. Franco...

Re: Hardy Duchess Question

From what I have read and can see in their add, all four sizes have a "ambidextrous fully adjustable click check mechanism". The adjusting knob now is located on the bottom to suit both LHW and RHW...

Re: "Deliverance", without the sex

Sharp looking canoe. Always liked canoes for their portability. Clean, quiet and no pollution. I recently sold my Scott Kevlar and purchased a 14' SportsPal aluminum. Only 41 pounds, lightweight,...

Re: Measuring casting distance

So if I strip off another 15 feet and let it hang from my line hand, can I add that to my casting distance as well. IMHO, If it isn't beyond the tip, I don't consider the line as being...

Re: What Did You Buy Today?

After a long time sitting on the fence, I decided to place the order for a discontinued Hardy Zenith 5 weight. Should have in in a week or so. Only regret is that I should have done it sooner. Still...

I didn't know that Abel had an "H" in it. I guess that I have been misspelling it all these years!

Re: Evolution of fly reel design

I found the article an interesting read. After talking to the owner of our local fly shop and researching this manufacturer back in 2012, I purchased my first of several, the "Velocity 2.0". It was...

Re: Sage Approach or Sage Response

I am not 100% sure of this but I have been told that the Approach is a replacement rod for the discontinued Vantage. Others on forum may be able to confirm whether or not this is fact. If it is, I...

I have two vests and like both of them but find a Simms "Hip Pack" lighter and more convenient with the exception of carrying the net. Hiking through the brush and on tight trails the net seems to...

Really! Only in England you say. The Hardy "Duchess" #3 is only a couple bucks more. I will stick with the Hardy if I get the fever. :D

Re: New Hardy SINTRIX Rods

The OP (New Hardy rods) and upcoming reviews of them has deteriorated into a US only discussion. Far Banks and Pure in particular and many other rod manufacturers have outsourced the manufacture of...

Re: New Hardy SINTRIX Rods

I agree with you on the point of shelling out $800 for a rod, unless it is a custom built one. Where we disagree is on the point of origin. The idea that only US produced goods are the best is long...

Re: Browning Silaflex Model 122910 Line 6

My first glass fly rod was a Browning Silaflex 322986 (1970) in a 2 piece 8'-6" for 8/9 or 7 weight as noted on the rod. 8/9 being the preferred weights of the manufacturer. I fished it twice and...

I am curious to know if the majority of forum members here believe this statement to be fact or just an opinion. I consider myself to be just average having picked this sport up at the age of 66. Am...
