Sage ONE, Circa, ESN sales

I'm seeing all Sage ONE's out there on heavy discounts already, so the X definitely is replacing the ONE, not adding to the line. I'm also seeing deep discounts on Circa and ESN rods... If you were...

Re: The X ...for Sage fans...

+2 on the Simms durability. Thankfully I'm not going to have to buy a pair for years. But when I do, big money.

Re: The X ...for Sage fans...

I'll buy one... when I can find one used. I'm priced out of most new rods when full retail. Thankfully I have a stable of Sage rods to fish from old LL and SP Durascrim to Konnetic Tech. I have to...

Re: Bauer, Galvan and Abel SD

I'd venture to say that statement represents the minority of people fly fishing - at least for trout and not cruising blue water fish. I cast all day, sometimes with two rods in tow. One rigged for...

Re: Runoff in Colorado

This past week as really changed some of the smaller streams in the South Platte rivershed. A lot of the smaller streams through South Park are finally pushing brown and up and rolling.

Reservoir...

That line never gets old. One of the best players of this generation.

Re: Bauer, Galvan and Abel SD

Love my new Abel S/D 5/6 on my new Sage MOD 590-4. Hard to go wrong with any of them.

Re: Question about replaceable jaws abel nippers

The only way to get them replaced is to send the nippers into Abel. Call Abel and ask to speak with someone - it's significantly faster than e-mail. You should get someone right away.

Re: Runoff in Colorado

Depends on how fast it gets warm and precip. Last year it was rain that was the killer - this year, it's snow. I fished the Arkansas on Saturday and it's just getting started on that river. The...

Re: Fishing with older rods

The oldest rod in my quiver that I fish with regularity is a Sage SP 589-5. I use this rod quite a bit as a pack rod paired with an old Sage click reel that is also 20 years old. Wonderful set up.

Re: Todd similar to SAGE SLT

I've not seen that comparison/statement on the board but if it was made I would be a person who disagreed with that assessment. While my best mate here is a fan of the SLT, outside of the 489-5 and...

Re: Do the fish even have a chance?

What I think is worse than the actions of the kid in the video are the comments in the comment section of the article. People are unreal, man. And to blatantly disregard the fish tossed overboard...

Re: 5 Keys to Fishing During Runoff

The "Buddy System" looks like two guys that are going to drown in that picture instead of one. My days of wading that deep are done, especially in a run-off condition. But if you are going to wade...

Re: Fish kill on the Big Thompson

Terrible news. I enjoy the Big T. I read yesterday they were going to crank up flows to try and give it a flush. Little late for the fish that died but perhaps a scour for the river bottom and...

Re: Will Clear Creek be clear in late May??

Very well could be rolling, especially near Idaho Springs. Runoff hasn't really kicked in yet and another 20 inches forecast for the next couple of days. Not a ton of rain like last year, but the...

Re: ever feel you have TO MUCH gear???

I absolutely have more than I need. There was a time when I would agonize over which rod to fish, which reel to use etc. So I moved so I could fish more often and took that out of the equation. Now I...

Re: Anderson's 2016 5wt reel shootout soon to be released. Predictions??

One of my favorites. I have mine paired with a Burkheimer DAL 489-4 and SA Trout. A wonderful summer afternoon PMD stick and the pairing is beautiful. It was my first Abel... and it led to 16...

Re: Anderson's 2016 5wt reel shootout soon to be released. Predictions??

I'm so tired of hearing the bull about "start up inertia". This is a very healthy brown, caught in a swift and clear Colorado river. And it was caught on 6x on my 590-4 Z-Axis. And.... aghast......

Re: Here we go again big snow for Colorado this weekend

Probably around 6-7 here near Morrison. Just finished shoveling for the second time. Only 2 inches since the last time - stuff is to heavy to let it pile up. It is HEAVY.

Re: anyone using the sage Mod fly rod

Agree on the 690 ZXL. I have come close a couple times but have not bought one and you're right. They don't come up much. I'm hoping the MOD will do it. The ZAxis does keep those bulling trout out of...

Re: anyone using the sage Mod fly rod

Couldn't agree with you more, el jefe, on the ZXL being an underrated line and one of the best trout fly rods of all time - at least made by Sage. I fish three of them - 486, 490, and 590. Those...

Re: Your Fly rod brand of choice

Nah, not 4 Sage 3 weights - just two. But Sage 4 weights - that's another story... I used to fish a lot of 4 weights in the midwest :D. 5 and 6 weights are currently on the rise in rod count.

Re: anyone using the sage Mod fly rod

I just bought one - the 590-4 - and took it for a test drive on Sunday. I was fishing a smaller section of the S. Platte so I wasn't booming long casts. I was fishing 20' and in - so I wasn't...
