Hi all,

I seem to be having issues casting this rod with a #6 Rio smallmouth bass line.
It feels very guttles at any distance casting deerhair bugs.
Is this line too heavy for this rod?

They are regarded as a pest of a saltwater fish, but great fun on the fly.

Sink Tip Line for TFO BVK #8

I'm after some advice for a sink tip line to suit my TFO BVK 9' #8 rod.
I have had no experience with sinking/sinking tip lines what so ever.

I think a sinking tip foating line would be the best...

This is only possible (for me) with a decent wind behind me.
The thin end of the rear taper at the rod tip feels right and the rest is shot out with the wind.

I always end up with the line...

The seas have been incredably flat of late which alows me to venture out in the Pacific in my little bass boat to cast at them salmon.
They would have to be the most frustrating fish to please,...

They are THE worst tasting fish ever.
Can be very challenging to take a fly at times and school up in huge numbers

I think they work very well with the RIO Mainstream Series Saltwater in the same weight as the rod.
I have the 8 weight and it works a treat with the above 8 weight line.
I tried the 8 weight...
