The best advice I can offer is to start by creating a niche. Be the guy that has the info for the type of fish folks want in your area both in the store and on the net. I can't speak to search engine...

I know what you mean. I just today received an order for about $140 worth of tying materials. The only feathers were a single pack of Hareline China Strung Hackle (about $4 worth).

Jim's comments above are right on the mark!

I've purchased a variety of the Whiting Bugger Packs. They are good for buggers generally up to about a size 6. With some you will get hackle suitable...

The internet is the replacement for magazines. That's where all the content is. If I recall, I think the Field and Stream website is pretty good, as are sites like Mid Current, etc.
