Cabelas vise

Anybody have experience with the Cabelas range of vises? Very mixed reviews out there. I realise there are much better vises out there, but their price is hard to beat.

Whats up with schoolies?

Dont get me wrong, I love catching schoolies, but do they live separate lives from adult stripers? Are they ever together?

Re: Circle hooks

It is hard not to strike with CH's. I was thinking for nymphing that would be a good solution seeing as so many fish get missed. Good to hear they are used in saltwater.

Fly size

Is there a guide or rule of thumb to match the max size fly a certain wt rod/line can handle? I mean besides spending a ton of cash and experimenting or have the shop guy roll his eyes at you.

Re: Armed and dangerous

I never thought about finger protection. Thanks for the heads up. Only lawn casted it so far. Its fun casting 9wt line. It just flies. The rod feels great, but the real test will be in water.
