I saw a fellow I knew in our little town with a huge water barrel(maybe 300 gallons)on the back of his truck...he said his well was dry...he needed to refill his cistern...

found out later he was...

first I tried something new (to me) with some mallard and Elk...

organic march brown

Hi Folks...havent put up a fly in a while...here's a simple tie for some march browns...bronze mallard tented wings waxed...a clump of elk fur also waxed good, arched & tied in segments...real easy...

I always tie in a half hitch while I still have tension on the bobbin...you can manuver the thread back with a nail or tool a bit still at this point if you want some more room for the eye...this...
