Here in PA, there's so much dang underbrush that you can't see clear past 100 yds anyways so I use a marlin 30-30 lever action also. I've been in some financial trouble lately and was selling things...

It honestly shouldn't be too hard to add a sleeve in there, throw some Velcro at the top and and it should be good to go. And like you said, have maybe either a zippered or Velcro closure at the top...

I forgot to mention they have a water bottle holder on the bottom of the pack. Not the same as a bladder holder, but that's actually a really good idea.

Probably about 160 flies of jerrys in there [emoji3] never leave home with out them. I have a few of my poorly tied flies in there but mostly jerrys.
