Re: Recon 10' 4 wt or something else

Syndicates are pretty much the brand in competition circles right now, and alot of guys swear by them. For browntrout's uses, they sound great. For an indicator nymphing rod, however, I would go with...

Re: Simms G3s or Rio Gallegos

Not trying to throw a wrench into your decision, but, I strongly recommend you at least consider the orvis silver sonic zippered waders. We have been using the origional silver sonic at our fly shop...

Re: Thee streamer rod

I would suggest a 7 weight if you want a dedicated streamer rod. I love my six, but a seven or even eight is crucial to throwing the bigger nastier streamers. If you are throwing sink tips and...

Re: Bass Fly that mimics a bluegill

An enrico puglisi fly could easily be tied to mimmic a blue gill. I have also seen lowfat minnows tied in a bluegill color. I am sure you could tie a gamechanger trpe pattern and just make it...

Re: Orvis Clearwater or Stcroi Imperial 6' 2wt

Alot of guys realy like the st. Croix, but the clearwater is a great rod as well. I have not cast the imperial, but I would not hesitate to recommend the clearwater.

Re: Help with 4 wt rod

In my opinion, for the kind of fishing I do in mountain streams (hiking, rockhopping, climbing) I would probably go woth a rod other than a bvk, The bvk seems to be a fairly fragile rod from others...

Re: Umpqua Zero Sweep

I saw the lineup of ZS packs and they look like an improvement over some of umpquas older packs, however I belive they take a step backwards in some instances.

The new backpack is way better than...

Re: Not Enough Junk in the Trunk

That's fine, if all you do is cast, however the problem arises when one spends 8 hours on the water high sticking, mending and stripping in flies. It is not so much problematic as it is annoying, to...

Re: Backing color for flats fishing

I all things being equal, for a given strength, a reel holds can hold more white backing than colored. The pigment used adds a tiny amoint to the diameter.
