Its pretty easy. Just kinda comes out like zelcro. A small brush helps get it out as well. Wear a leather glove, they are super slimy and difficult to hold.

I caught a monster crappie like that a couple years back, about 15". I thought it was a turtle at first it didnt want to move at all.
