I have been looking at the LPS II , I just have not had the time to swing out to Greenfield and try them out on the casting pond. Thinking of a 8' in 3 or 4 wt. I did cast one in 8.5 and was liked it...

That book Walter mentioned is a excellent resource for the D I have found.

I also plan on taking a 9' 4 wt. mod/fast & NS II 5 wt. and 60 + feet is not a problem, putting a fish on the other end...

It is interesting the # of rods mentioned that are under 9' as being the favorite. I was expecting someone would mention a Tom Morgan custom rod ....

Every reasonable person I have talked to said a 9' 5 or 6 is all you need and the ability to cast 40-50 feet ..... 60 on the long cast .....

long leader , at least 12' or better , so on a 50'...
