Re: Nymph leader ?

When I have someone fishing an indicator I use a 2-3ish' of a stiff butt (25lb mono or a cut back old tapered leader) to a tippet ring, the indicator right at the tippet ring on the leader section,...

Re: Simms or cheaper?

My only pair of Simms (G3s) didn't make it past a year of use and three repair trips to MT before Simms told me that they couldn't fix the seams and that it was the wrong model for someone who is...

Re: Need to Vent

I have noticed that the tippet rings sometimes don't come completely smooth, and that they can deform some with pressure. I can't imagine that when they do, they can create a pinch point or...

Re: Nymphing without an indicator

1) For what most would call euro nymphing, yes, your anchor fly will be along the bottom.
2) No clue

Re: So, I don't have enough fly rods and I need some advice....

Curtis bought my HSD, and it is a really great rod for mixing between indicator and tightline techniques. If you are wanting to do both, this is what I would get hands down. I had the 10/4 Zenith,...

Re: Nymphing without an indicator

The alternating colored mono is nice, I think Rio and Umpqua have the shortest sections at the moment which is helpful for deep runs and knowing how far under your flies are. You can also take a...

Re: NRX blue/green story and closeout

I think that is an apples and oranges comparison considering that each wrap is less than a half inch, there are probably 10-12 of them total and they are spaced out several inches apart. With the...
