Re: The Photography Chat Thread;

I got the wife the Canon 50mm 1.4 for her 50D. Even though it was from me to her, it's kind of for me too;)

Re: fly fishing films!

I watch a lot of the trailers, short films and DVDs. They all have their niche and are a good watch. But what gets me the most are the takes of the fish eating the fly from a good point of view. ...

Re: Out of my comfort zone, boy did it hurt.

No worries, it should help. I can't remember the last time I used 5X nymphing. I usually use 4X to my dropper and depending on what my first "nymph" is it could be 2X tippet. Here is good snip:...

Re: Out of my comfort zone, boy did it hurt.

Try 3X next time with those patterns. It's a bit stronger and will give you more ability to turn the fish and keep them out of structure. Going from 5X to 3X is like upgrading to power steering,...

Re: Out of my comfort zone, boy did it hurt.

Nice report. What size tippet are you using? Maybe a bigger/stronger tippet is in order. Typically fish aren't tipper shy when throwing roe so put on the steel cable...

Re: I've seen drift boats, but this one has a 'Wow Factor' beyond anything I've ever

Sick rides for sure. I've probably spent too much time looking at Jason's site, incredible boats. After reading about the construction process, material and his workmanship, not only are the boats...

Re: Which Sharkskin for a Scott S4?

Not sure if this is an option but see if a shop can let you test both tappers. It also depends on what type of water you'll be fishing. I've casted the SS WF on the S4 and it felt OK but I'd bet...

Re: A First Annual NAFFF Conference / Meeting;

This would be a lot of fun. It would be a lot of fun to do but of course date and location are key factors. If it's with in a days drive of me, count me in. I can bring the drifter too. Island...

Re: The Photography Chat Thread;

Thanks for the reps Ard!

You'll love the Sigma 17-70, I have it and have really enjoyed it. Solid glass, durable, easy to shoot and it just feels good.

I'm new to the game of photography, I picked up an SLR about 1.5 years ago. It's a lot of fun and I really enjoy it.
I've read the first three sticky threads on the UK forum about fishing...

Re: Stripped off my reel, tossed to the ground, gave it the finger and set it ablaze

Ha ha, I got a good laugh from your title of this thread. My comment probably doesn't make you feel better about the purchase but I'll say it was worth every penny you spent:D

Re: SA's Sharkskin lines

I like the SS for the same reasons mentioned so I wont go there again. I will add I like SS for nymphing, pulling line off the water when mending is easier as SS doesn't seem to grab the water like...
