Re: Small stream rod

My favorite small stream rod is an Orvis Hydros 8'4" 3wt. They're likely very hard to find now, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one if I needed it. This is one of the few rods that I own that...

Re: TFO Esox rod

Love mine, and so have most people that have used them. The grip is easy on the hands during a full day of fishing, and I haven't really found anything negative about the mixed grip compound. The rod...

Re: Southeast Musky Fishing

Do you know any gear anglers down there? One of the best things to do is to find out what colors the gear guys have been successful with. I'd done a little research on that fishery earlier this fall...

Re: Musky's are a cruel beast.

I'm hopeful that things will start to pick up in about 2 to 3 weeks. The nights will be progressively getting cooler, and once the water temps start to drop we will be all systems go. For the moment,...

Re: Musky's are a cruel beast.

Dang, that's a real bummer about the Location X trip! I thought of you when I saw the rain knowing you were scheduled for that trip. It's crazy to think about what a difference a few miles makes. Our...

Re: Destination, Unknown

Being that I am a musky nut, I would definitely toss a vote up for Wisconsin fall musky. Beautiful scenery along the south shore of Lake Superior, free camping, and a pretty fair shot at a trophy...

Re: Hyde drift boats?

No experience with the boat in question, but I did see a pretty good deal yesterday on facebook for a 2011 Hyde LP with a cover/motor mount/CB oars/etc. for $6000 from a guy that works at Umpqua.

Re: Kinnickinnic river, Wisconsin

So I was browsing something for some info this morning on another topic, and ended up coming across this. Might be worth taking a look at. Sounds like it would be doable in that pontoon of yours.

Re: cameras for fishing trips

I've got an Olympus Tough point & shoot camera for conditions where there is a good chance that I'll be getting wet. I think I've had it for around 4 or 5 years? To give you an idea on price, a quick...

Re: Kinnickinnic river, Wisconsin

Sorry, I can't help you out with this one at all. Where are you from though? There may be other rivers nearby that I could give you some float ideas.

Re: Thief sole my fish and fly.

Funny! I hate those darn snapping turtles. They've got terrible attitudes!

I actually had two bass get shredded yesterday by a couple of musky when I was bringing them in. One of them got the bass...

Re: Brand New TFO Mangrove 9' 9wt

This rod is still for sale. Someone must want a good deal on a new 9 weight rod. If you're in the market, you'd be hard pressed to find a better rod for the $$.

You lucky dog! Take me with you!

It's funny I opened up this thread when I did. The other tab on my browser is open to Bozeman area condos. I'm right there with you on the Wisconsin snowflakes....

Re: Able nipper, what kind of Zinger?

I keep mine on a lanyard so it's always around my neck. Zingers have a tendency to fall off or break. Generally when I lose nippers, I am also losing the zingers they're attached to.

Re: Problem fishing a dropper

Sounds like a casting issue to me. Try opening up your stance a little bit and watching your backcast so that you get your timing dialed in. If I had to guess, you're probably bringing your cast...

Re: Montana Trip 2014

I took over a thousand pictures while I was out there. The shutter never seemed to stop clicking. However, going through that many pictures is a bear. I picked 40 or so pictures earlier that didn't...

Thanks everyone.

The pictures I had of Hebgen and Quake didn't make the cut. The lighting was too poor in those pictures. Though, we did fish right below them. :) My next time out there I will be...

Montana Trip 2014

We spent the last week and a half touring a portion of Montana and Yellowstone. The fishing was incredible, and made better by some of the help I received from members on this board. So for that I...
