Re: How to respond to a "non-fishing" Letter to the Editor

Does the paper have an outdoor section, outdoors editor, etc. that should be where you direct your letter about what fishing means to you, etc.
You won’t change the mind of anyone whose already...

Re: What's a pike minnow?

Hi Yikes,

They’ll smack a good sized baitfish pattern pretty hard, then it’s "One run and done".
A lot of folks look on them as pest’s or being overly detrimental to the recruitment of other...

Re: It's not the size of the ship, it's the motion of the ocean.

Actually I can say that and now you can too. ;)
Let me help you understand it.

Technology didn’t change the fact that a 10 foot rod is still a 10 foot rod, or that extending the length of a lever...

Re: 9'6"?

Kim,

The best situation is if the shop just happens to have a loaner of the exact model(s) you’re interested in, that they’ll let you take fishing for a few days. Some do it for a nominal fee and...

It's not the size of the ship, it's the motion of the ocean.

Don't get caught up in a single specific rod length.
9’ 6” is not some mystical length that will solve a casting deficiency or even provide you with the type of tool you're looking for. If 10...

Re: Home made shooting head

Hello Dan,

You couldn’t swing a dead cat around here without hitting someone fishing a variation of the outfit you’re proposing and specifically, with the very rod you have.
Over the past thirty...

Re: Ever have a time you were spinnin' yer wheels ?

For comparison,...
