Re: Sage One durability issues

This is still being thoroughly beat to death on another forum. Despite what each of us perceive as the true definition of fly fishing (I have no desire to debate that in this thread....or ever) I'm...

Re: Montanna stream access

I also don't agree with it at all and have no problem hoping a fence to fish water if its legal but I agree that the reason some spots (mostly small spring creeks) get away with it is because of lack...

Re: Sage One durability issues

I use the 7wt extensively as a streamer rod and for carp with no issues. It's had several years of use with large articulated streamers and good sized carp. Some decent sized trout mixed in as well....

Re: Montanna stream access

Ok thats helpful. It's always seemed like a gray area depending on who you talk to. I say this because I've spoken with people that have gotten conflicting information from not only land owners...

Re: Montanna stream access

This isn't actually legal as per the definition of navigable water.

It's my understanding (please jump in if you have better info) that Nelson's, Armstrong's, Depuy's, and Odell (just to name a...

Re: What is your strangest fishing experience?

A buddy and I hiked back to a remote pond in the Forks area of Maine after an old timer tipped us off to it. An old logging road used to get you within a mile of the pond so people would stash...

Re: What's your favorite Permit Fly?

Permit don't eat......my flies. Hope you post a trip report from Cuba. I'm envious.

Re: Montana Wild made a booboo

This is not a confusing issue. I've never met an angler in Montana that thought it was ok to target bull trout in spawning tributaries. I've never met an angler in Montana that would dream of...

Re: Montana Wild made a booboo

Everyone thats focusing on the mishandling of fish or the filming without a permit is missing the big picture. These guys knowingly targeted closed tributaries for bull trout, mishandled them, and...

Re: Adipose

Most people around here run Clacks but starting to see more and more Adipose south of the Missouri. Personally I love mine. The open rod storage and walk around sealed the deal for us. Easy to get...

Re: ANyone Using Sage One 13'6" Eight Weight?

I have the 4210 on mine as Sage lists it for 6-9wt in Spey. Does the job.

Re: ANyone Using Sage One 13'6" Eight Weight?

Morning Ard,

I almost bought the 13'6" 8wt but after speaking with the guys at Sage went with the 12'6" One in 8wt instead. I really love the rod. I'm a beginner spey caster though so this opinion...

Re: Mayan Riviera Cozumel fishing??

Just got back from Punta Allen and it's a cool fishery. However, I agree it's a bit much to break off in a day trip. You can catch a ride to the Reserve and then take a boat down to Punta Allen which...

Re: Carp - Gear and tactics

Depending on the size of the fish your targeting you can get away with a 6wt but it's nice to have a 7 or 8wt when you hook a large fish. Lot of guys get it done on 6wts but people also blow up 6wts...

Re: Carp - Gear and tactics

Do you fish the salt? Treat them like Permit. They can be incredibly spooky and picky. If your in a boat get out and chase them on foot if you have that option. Be as quiet as possible. When one...

Re: Yellowstone Experience - Crowds an Anomaly for 2015?

I almost admire the folks that have the balls to get within 20 feet of a bison for a selfie. They must be fearless.

In regards to the OP I think as others mentioned gas prices are at play and not...

Yeah looks like your in the clear since about.......1976. Will be interesting to see how that plays out down there with the neighbors. If I owned a lodge in the Bahamas I would be nervous.

Re: Turks and Caicos (Provo)

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think T and C are a British Colony and independent of the Bahamas?

I only bring it up because of the current debacle going on now in the Bahamas in regards to the new...

Re: Video - Bucknasty Browns

Exactly. There are actually a lot of little gems like this sprinkled across the West and I don't blame anyone that would be pissed if it was pointed out to thousands of fisherman. Literally.

Its...

I always carry it out here when in certain areas including where you'll be. The cans are so light that it's hardly noticeable. Just make sure it's accessible and not buried in your pack. I put mine...
