Although the the angler usually prides himslef on his superior intellegence in order to fool the fish, in this case, it is not hard to see which of the two posseses a larger brain.

This is a valid concern. Where I live we don't have much of a problem with theives so I loaded my windows up. I usually hide extra rods and leave my empty rod tube and sock where the theives can see...

They are also helpful for balancing rods, my courtland nymph rod is a 3wt, but has a fighting but to help balance its 10.5' lenght-without the need for a massive reel.

They are fun rods, however I wish that they were made in lighter line weights. Definitely check out the fiberglass manifesto, realy cool. I'd say go ahead and get one..... It wont break the bank. :D

Im not a big weight fanatic either, but it just seemed to have a very heavy feel out front. However, like you stated, putting a reel on this would change everything.

I have jever cast one, but the ones i have picked up and wiggled seemed pretty heavy. I might spring for a new recon or a sage response.
