Re: Changing of the seasons

Just came back from dinner in Vitoria, with a serious caipirinha buzz going, and your post just reminds me of all these similar memories I have with my daughter... the evolution as an angler, and now...

Re: Court land flies at Walmart.

Zug Buggin nailed it. Those Wal-Mart (Cortland) fly packs are garbage... simply a little teaser for guys purchasing Power Bait.

Re: Would this be "cheating?"

What will make the better fishing story:

A) Found this impossible snag where the largest trout in the stream showed himself to me. I lost ## flies and hooked him four (4) times... each ending the...

Re: Dead Flies Don't Swim

Lot of truth here. I spent a few nights watching trout feed from a bridge during the sulphur hatch back east. It can be very educational.

Back to the Trico's... it got to the point where fishing...

Re: airline travel/carryon/personal item??

Only problem is that you're relying on the gate check personnel to know their airline's guidelines front-to-back. They always err on the side of caution and will screw you if you let them.

Best to...

Re: airline travel/carryon/personal item??

I fly in/out from Salt Lake City about twice a month so I see a lot of guys traveling with fishing gear. I can't recall any that I've seen with more than a back-pack and their rod tubes as their...

THE BLACK CURSE!

Fishing Trico's... talk about the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.

Some mornings on the Bushkill I felt like pulling my hair out. :D

Re: Why reverse hackle?

Ah, I see. I wasn't sure if you meant western US, or western civilization.

Re: Why reverse hackle?

Western... west of where? :)

Soft hackles are fished in exactly the same manner and exhibit the same actions. When I say soft hackles, I am referring to the "new" ones that have only been around...

Re: Nestor's Pheasant Tail

Todd,

MD, PA, UT, WY, CO, NJ... doesn't matter... pattern is universally acceptable wherever trout live in moving water and eat insects.

As for your questions:

Feel free to experiment....

Having said that,...
