Re: Furled Leaders

Love them! I even use them on my spey rods. Regardless of the length (personal preference there) 'One size does not fit all.' (To N2F's comment above.) There may well be exceptions but all my FL's...

Re: DT Fly Lines

Re: most effective way of marketing a fly shop

I think WG's 'bang on' with the above. 'Face Time' is priceless; here and frequent postings are 'Gold.' I don't even want to think about how much money I may spend over the course of a year (couldn't...

Re: Hit the Secret Lake Saturday

Wish we had lakes to fish around here. Huge lakes behind dams but only one real lake.... (aptly named 'Fish Lake') but I wouldn't consider eating anything that came out of that.

Old Men think...

Re: South Bend Oren-o-Matic 1130 Model A

Re: What types of sewing or craft store yarn... ?

Hear you WG, hear you.

Look at all this 'New Gear' and have to do a 'What the hell, who cares?' Well they have to sell something, just not to me. Do see somethings that do hit the 'Now that's...

Re: What types of sewing or craft store yarn... ?

Interesting thread going on here.

Before the days when fishing stores were full of 'the next best thing' yarn is what us old guys used. Hundreds of Steelhead and Salmon hooked with just a bit of...

Re: Fly Reel for 1wt

Just my .02 cents ....

When you get that light the reel is a place to store your line .. Period. Find an old Phlug reel, the things are indemonstrable. Choice of words, my choice, you would have...

Thumbs up Re: New rod, new problem

I missed 'SC's' comment, but if this were a 2hander he's got it nailed! Cast starts with the rod tip right on the water. Then with light hands 'lift, swish, let the line go with the flow. Amazing how...

Re: Thoughts on leader

Another excellent option is the 'Furled Leaders' that CutThroat makes: "Bee's Knees." Only thing is you need to let him know what line weight (6,7, 8 what-ever) as these are NOT a 'One size fits...
