If you are hitting Vancouver Island, check out Robinsons in Victoria. Amazing selection of tying material and very helpful staff. There is also quite an active forum devoted to fly fishing in BC...

Those fleece wader pants look very interesting. IMO, layering is the way to go. Also convenient for when it warms up more than expected, off comes a layer and you are good to go again.
