Re: Sage Z axis rods

All I can say is ONE. You'll know what I mean in a few months. Keep in touch with your local fly shops if you are interested in a z-axis. They may cut you a deal.

Re: Leader too light?

You need to consider a few things when practicing casts with heavier equipment. Buy a leader that will be the size you are going to cast on the water, make sure you stretch it out too so it doesn't...

Re: Are you ready for this price

I have read a few comments here that would suggest otherwise. Yes Abel is making money here but do you know how long it takes for them to anodize a trout print reel? There are so many time consuming...

Re: Casual Beginner Outfit - TFO NXT or other options?

I think one of the best beginner setups you can buy is a Redington kit. The same guys who are designing the high end Sage rods are designing the Redington's. You can pick one up for around $200. If...

Re: Medium priced reel ($200-$300)

Ross Evo 4 for $325 or a CLA 4 for $230. The CLA 4 has beefed up components from the smaller sizes. This makes for a better quality reel for larger species. I have worked in a fly shop for around 7...

Re: Hew guy with questions

Hey there,
This gear is pretty decent. A 7.5 foot 4wt fly rod is pretty short, I would stick to smaller streams with it. You will be able to fish bigger rivers but your casting distance will be...
