Re: The Finished Product

Very nice! As I sit and contemplate my first build I too have considered single foot guides. But since I want to build a 7wt I am not sure if single foot guides would be too delicate on a rod I...

Re: Need help with a reel for a 3wt Redington CT

Funny, I too bought a Redington CT on closeout for Christmas too! Got it from Cabela's for a song and a dance. I paired it with a Lamson Konic 1.5. It is sized smaller to fit the lighter rod. ...

Re: Gorge Fly Shop

The fly shop near me, Stone River Outfitters (http://www.stoneriveroutfitters.com/), I fell in love with the minute I walked through the door. The guy who was working there did not sit there...

Re: Brian's one a month challenge.

OK, so the big snowstorm last weekend put a kink in my plans. The fly shop did not open on Saturday because of 2 feet of snow, and they normally don't open on Sunday to begin with. Thankfully I had...

Re: Would you offer help?

It may be a long shot, but does he run any kind of internet/mail order system? Perhaps some folks might like to help out a bit by buying something, even if it is not too big a purchase, like $25 or...

Re: Would you offer help?

It saddens me, in this age in which social media has the ability to bring us as a society closer together, that it appears we have become less civilized. I still see a glimmer of hope that good...

Re: Almost Finished

Cool! I got a Cabela's Stowaway 6 9' 5wt for Christmas (the pre assembled one of course) and have considered buying one of the blanks, maybe 6 or 8 wt.

Re: Almost Finished

Nice! Can't wait to see the finished pics. I just got in my drying motor and rod chuck today. I just need to get it mounted and work on making a thread tensioner and then I hope to start my first...

Re: Fly Box Frustrations, anyone have them?

Hmmm, you just gave me a great idea. I just found this website that sells hinged tin boxes of various sizes. I have plenty of the 2mm EVO foam. I think a little experimenting may be in order.... :D

Re: How to attach backing to fly line: Best knot??

I ran a search on the net recently since the Airflo line I had just got in had welded loops on BOTH ends. Turns out, after my research, that the Albright was a great one to use. So that is the one...

Re: Blizzard of 2013

Goes to show how strange mother nature can be. Manchester, NH is reporting 14" (as of about 1/2 an hour ago). That is only about a dozen miles from me. Here in Goffstown we are at or over 2 feet. ...

Re: Hook Eyes Up/Down/Straight?

This is something I wondered too. I just started tying, and it got awfully confusing dealing with something as simple as streamer hooks. Down eye, straight, up turned.....it had me scratching my...

Very nice Dan! Very nice indeed!

I am curious where you get your dry transfer letters from. I was browsing around last night looking for some for this same exact purpose. I like the font of the...

Re: Looks like our Folks in the NE are about to get Hammered.

I have heard rumors the Manchester, NH area (I am in the next town over) is in a possible 30" dump spot. Going to get my workout Saturday with the old shovel. I should drag the fly rod out into the...

Re: Drying motor question.

Well, the deed is done. I pulled the trigger on the 5-6 rpm motor with the chuck. It is a three screw type chuck, but I think I know how I can still use the rubber band method to hold the rod end. ...

Brian's one a month challenge.

So being in the beginning stages of the art of fly tying I decided to try and challenge myself. I figure the best way to become better at fly tying is to actually do it, and do it by trying as many...
