Re: Poudre Today

I'll have to bow out at this point of the knowledge. I've only parked on the north side of the canyon highway before the turn and fished up the north fork for a ways but not all the way to the dam. ...

Re: Poudre Today

JHardin, I'm not Lonestar but I can tell you that you can fish the north fork where it comes out of Seaman and enters the main canyon. Since its tailwater its more likely to fish on cold days.

Re: North Park early October?

I fished the upper Platte last weekend and the fishing was good, but we just had another rain and cold snap this week and flows bumped from 200 cfs on Monday to 400 today. The streamer bite should...

Re: Remote/hard to get to fishing

This spot was hard to get to. Probably only a 2.5 mile hike, but you can probably tell by the size of those boulders that you have to be quite the limber little lad to make it down there. Then you...

Re: Fly Fishing Wyoming with Project Healing Waters

The colored up browns are so vivid - very nice. Also thanks to all those who support Project Healing Waters and Wounder Warriors.

Re: Poudre river flows through town

Ummmmm don't you remember what happened this time last year?

When it comes to good fishing or millions of dollars in flooding costs, the decision is just too easy to keep the flows down.

The appears to have been a rock slide (http://county10.com/2014/08/27/breaking-rock-slide-wind-river-canyon/) in the wind river canyon today

Re: Northgate Canyon

Comeonavs, I fished that area recently. Although the flows have dropped, the water is still off color, not muddy, just stained. I did not see a single fish rise, so I fished tandem nymph rigs of...

Yes we've all been there breaking off big fish, but fun is fun and its what keeps me coming back. Smart move fishing before the weekend.

Re: North Park Area of Colorado

Larry's response is pretty good, but I think he might have meant to say North *Park Anglers (in Walden) as a good source for flies and info.

I've spent some time exploring some of the more out of...

Re: North Park early October?

Yes unfortunately the answer is "depends". You'll probably have a good idea a couple weeks out, but not now. I've certainly fished North Park in mid-October before, but I considered those to be...

Are crayfish patterns worth trying?

I fished what I would consider a unique front range river the other day (mostly private) in that it was filled with creek chubs and crawdads. I caught several small browns using my normal freestone...

Re: Trip Report 7/11 thru 7/20 Conejos,Arkansas,Upper Gunnison, Conejos

Great write up and pics.

Edit: Never mind about the bull snake comment, I see both the bull and the rattler (under the railroad track) now.

Rainbow Family at it again...(Redfeather stabbing)

I've never ran into them but I know they were in the Pinedale area maybe 5 years back. Never heard anything good about them other than their ideals to be peaceful and live in harmony with nature,...

Re: Gifting advice - beginner

I second the 4 piece rod idea, also, if possible to have the whole outfit put together for the beginner. When I first started out fly fishing I'd run into a Cabela's or a Bass Pro shops to have them...

Re: Rmnp?

I've stayed here (http://www.idlewilde.net/index.php) before, little log cabins right on the river with lots of humming birds. Seemed cheap to me.

As far as where to go, please know that this...

Re: South Fork Cache La Poudre river...

I used to have a bit of an obsession with exploring the south fork of the Poudre since it looks to turn into more and more of a box canyon the further up it goes, but I remember the coverage map for...
