WTB 6wt Z Axis or St. Croix legend elite

I'm looking for either of these in 9' length. I'm particularly looking for someone's lightly used St Croix legend elite (newer version IPC model) but would also be interested in a z axis . Thanks

I've got a new (OK- i twisted up two soft hackles on it) Griffin Montana Mongoose rotary. I recently got it as a gift, and have been working off an old regal for years. I've come to realize I...

Re: Patagonia Rock Grip Wading Boot-Aluminum Bar

I also found these boots pretty heavy. I used to own them (gottem for a trip to AK) but sold them soon after. They worked fine for the alaska trip, and I'd definitely recommend them to anyone that...

Re: New wading boot time!

I'm very happy w/ my Korkers Metalheads. Agree that rubber is super slick on any moss covered rock, and I also found the patagonia rock grip alum. bars to be VERY slick on rocks. Spent some time...

Re: Which New Wading Boot?

Another vote for the korkers. I had the pat. rock grip aluminum bar boots for a total of about 1 month. Gottem for a trip to AK, and they were ok. Back in MT, they couldn't hold a candle to the...

Re: Hardy Zenith or Sage One?

Just spent the day fishing my new 4wt zenith. It's an 8'6", and it is easily the sweetest casting rod I own. Absolutely worth every cent. Every cast was extremely accurate. Able to feel the rod...

Re: Switch: Facts or Myths?

So ya know- spey casts require an anchor and D loop to "Load" the rod. This is how it differs from OH casting. Scandi and skagit both use these, just in different ways. Touch and go anchors...

Re: 9ft 5w rod small stream spey fly line?

If your looking to single hand spey to keep your fly in the drink longer, and are fishing smaller streams (i'm not familiar w/ the ones you mentioned), you cant beat a triangle or DT line. WF lines...

Re: Saracione vs Peerless

I'd take a hard look at Speyco's reels. They are made in GB,Wisconsin. Beautiful reels. I own a single spey. Love it to death.

Re: Echo DH 6126 12'6" Spey Rod

I own a decho 4119- Great rod. These Dec Hogan's will be in the same company of sage LL's or scott G's- Sweet rods, not made anymore, and feel great to cast. This is a good deal.

Re: WTB- 5wt Switch?

Speaking from experience= I started w/ a used z axis 5110 and an AF skagit switch (360 gr) head. Cast nicely, but wasn't the best to learn on. The action was too fast for me. I sold it and the...

Re: Lamson Konic Reel

Ive got a 3.5 I used on a 4 wt. switch (deer creek 4110). It has been flat out awesome. Granted- it's pretty rare for me to get a trout on the reel, but when you need it, the drag works smoothly. ...

Re: Airflo Ridge Lines

Might be late to add on here, but I really like my AF Impact on my streamdance glx. It's the high line speed rod, and found this line to last much longer than a rio grand (cracked after bout a yr.)...

Re: Why did you go two hand?

I'm pretty new to this as well (bout a two yrs.) and have found I'm able to keep my flies in the water much longer (quicker casts) than if I had say a longer single hand rod. That said, there's a lot...

Re: Which New Wading Boot?

Just my .02

Was able to purchase a pair of pat. rock grips for an AK trip. They worked great for that trip, being that felt is on the outs- however I found them to not be as "grippy" as...

Re: Reel for Loomis Streamdance GLX 5WT

I read once that you're supposed to spend roughly 1/2 the rod cost on your reel. For a streamdance (which I own and absolutely love), that would amount to approx. $300. I've got an old Galvan reel...
