Re: Favorite Streamer Rods?

Ard's reply reminds me of what my late nephew used to say about rifles.

Reply: 'The one I happen to have in my hands.'

Can't get simpler than that.

Re: acceptable distance for 9' 5 wt.

The optimal casting distance for a 9' , 5wt is from you to the fish.

Seriously, you will find a way to do it every time.

Necessity is a muther than causes invention as needed.

Thomas and Thomas (No Sanctuary) NS5, 9ft 5wt

I might be interested in a sell or trade on my T and T 9', 5wt No Sanctuary fast action fly rod. If you like a fast action 5wt, this would be a hard rod to beat. I've never cast anything like it....

Re: lifetime warranty rods / outfits?

I merely wanted to state my opinion on warranty's. No offence is/was meant to anyone else's opinion on this subject.

The fact is we DO pay for it. Is it worth it ? That would be a consideration...

Re: lifetime warranty rods / outfits?

Just my point. You wouldn't drive your car without insurance and it's not free. If I paid 800 dollars for a rod,,or lest say 700 without a warranty,,,I'd insure it with my personal insurance agent...

Re: lifetime warranty rods / outfits?

I do not know if this warranty applies to the Streamline series but Orvis's other rods have a 25 year warranty.

The Clearwaters, from what others have said, are fine rods. I just do not know about...
