Ross Flystik?

Has anyone heard of these? I am wondering how they compare to the Sage bass rods- they appear to be the same idea. I have heard some other companies are doing the same thing also but I haven't seen...

Fly fishing from a mini bass boat?

Guys, I just bought a Pelican Bass Raider 10E- is there any compelling reason that it wouldn't be a good platform for fly fishing? I know most fellas use those tubes or inflatable pontoons, but this...

Re: Hellagrammite?

In my experience, 4" is a pretty large one. Perhaps it escaped from the BALCO lab that Barry Bonds hangs out at?

Re: Average cost of an "upscale" rig?

Frank,

Thanks for your input. I was talking about a freshwater rig, whether it be for trout, smallmouth, or even larger fish.

Average cost of an "upscale" rig?

I was talking fishing with someone at work, and he asked me what a higher end fly fishing setup cost. Being a newbie I really had no answer. My question to you folks is- what kind of setup can be had...

I understand more clearly now- thanks Big Cliff:) I need to get away from my conventional thinking regarding fishing with my spinning gear. My St Croix spinning rod has a very fast action, which...

Re: Largemouth bass rod?

Aren't those rods really short? What is the reasoning behind such a short fly rod?

Man- you are getting me really eager! I have been to Jackson Hole years back, and I have family in Thermopolis. What do you fish for up there?

Re: Instructional DVD Rentals

I am new to this site, but Mr. Whiton seems to always have time to help us all with our endless inquiries. We should all be grateful... Excellent question by the way, Brunner.

Fly casting lessons scheduled:)

Well, I have vacation starting the week of the 14th. I figured rather than go out and frustrate myself and the wife on the lake, we would take a few fly casting lessons. I have elected to not so much...

Foam for poppers?

What is a good type of foam for poppers? I read somewhere that plain old styrofoam, and water noodles from the pool section work well. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks, NRA

Re: What weight dumbell eyes?

Our river is a small one, with some pools maybe 8 feet deep or less, and plenty of spots where it becomes only a foot or so deep and pretty fast.
