Re: Mich. U.P. fishing

I'm headed up North this weekend to do some work at the family lake house. I plan to get away for an afternoon (or two) to do some fishing. I've never been to the UP before, and this year may be my...

Re: What knot you use for tying Streamers to tippet?

I don't know the name of this knot, but my brother in-law taught me this one last summer while fishing big streamers. I use it exclusively now, since it's so easy to tie. It's never failed on a...

Re: Hello from Indiana

Welcome, from a native Hoosier. Don't overlook river smallie fishing. I, too, started in ponds and lakes, but when you pull tight on a river smallie that just crushed your top water fly...game...

Re: Which line for tfo bvk 8 wt

It's a fast rod, so whatever you choose, will need to be at least a 1/2 weight heavy. I use Rio Gold for fresh, and a Cortland for the salt.

Re: What are you Tying?

Playing with craft fur. I think these will be great for a trailer on a double streamer rig.

Re: Wading- How do you protect your smart phone?

I don't know how small your chest pack is, but Pelican makes some pretty small cases these days.

Edit: link added

I have not used this case, just something I came across the other day.

Re: A question to those who don't tie...

I enjoy tying big streamers for smallies on my local water and big trout out west (I send them to my brother in-law). I do not enjoy tying small dies or nymphs, so I will buy those when in a fly...

I feel bad posting my craft fur "bad hair days," while hony is posting works of art. Regardless, I have to fill my MFC boat box with streamers one way or another.
