One downside to DT is that it usually takes up more space on the spool than WF. So if you have one of the large arbor type reels, this can limit the amount of backing you can get on the reel.

One thing I like to do is pull all the line out from my reel and let my 6 year old son reel while I hold a wet rag around the line to clean it off. Then we pull it back off and re-do with fly line...

I recently purchased a chest pack type vest from Gander Mountain for 39.00 bucks on clearance that is really nice. Lots of storage but none of it is in your way the way some other vests/packs can be....

I agree with cowboy with the exception of fishing tailwaters. In 99% of the free flowing streams here in NC, I fish them in just wading boots with neoprene ankle booties from march til late november....
