I walked into my local fly shop and asked when they were reducing the price on the One now that the X was coming out. Needless to say I walked out of the shop with a brand new One that I got a heck...

Re: TFO Deer Creek Spey or Reddington Chromer?

I might have missed this but are you looking for a switch rod or a spey rod? I wouldn't get a switch rod over 11' personally especially if you were wanting to single hand cast occasionally. I'll tell...

Re: Accel or Mod? Help me choose.

I like a faster rod but I tell you I would put a Pulse in the hands of a beginner in a hot minute. The mod is softer and better suited to dry fly fishing to me. I think the pulse is so well rounded...

Re: Accel or Mod? Help me choose.

I have cast the accel, the mod and the pulse. l like them in this order: pulse, mod, then accel. I strongly urge you to cast all three to see which one you like best.

Re: I have $350 to spend...which rod?

Go test cast a Sage Pulse once. Great rod for $450. Personally, I like it much better than the Recon

Re: Thoughts on Posting and Profiles...

I understand his point, but for me I need to keep my profile sparse because of my line of work.

Re: Which switch rod? - Trout

I should have mentioned earlier I use is an Echo 3, 1107-4 which handles nicely single handed if and when you need to.

Re: Which switch rod? - Trout

Trout and sea run trout? Almost sounds like you need two rods for that size range. For trout Id go with a micro spey rod in size 4. The sea run trout I'd be going for a size 7. So a 1004-4 and a...

Re: anyone using the sage Mod fly rod

Key words in your post; "Heavy double nymph rig". I'd go with the Pulse over the Mod in a minute. They cast very similar but the Pulse has a little more backbone and would handle what your asking...

Re: Has anyone fished the Sage Pulse in either a 5 or 6 weight?

Last weekend I was at my local fly shop and cast both the MOD and the Pulse. I loved them both but I think that Pulse is better. They're very close in casting feel but the Pulse has a little more...
