I prefer good numbers of quality fish in a remote area with no pressure and gorgeous scenery.

With it still being elk season, we donned some orange. Of course, 1/4 mile up from the access, there were no other humans to be seen, but still, better safe than sorry.

I'm actually in NE Montana. That's a pure freestone. There are a few minor springs that come in, but I wouldn't call it anything but a freestone. It just moves fast enough to remain mostly open.

It was actually warm this weekend. Highs in the 30's. Up to 2' of snow on the ground in places. It's not really spring fed, it's just high-gradient enough that it largely remains unfrozen. Water...

The only reason to get an expensive reel is to brag to your buddies about how much your reel cost so they'll be impressed with how much money you appear to have.
