I've heard about that too. We will try that next time we go to the little red for sure. Now I want a cabin over there somewhere. Norfork and Heber are both about a 3 1/2 hour drive from Memphis....

As an aside to this the hatchery right there I guess is shut down tight with the government shutdown. No one taking care of the fish I guess. I asked the guide and he heard if they didn't resolve...

I'd so rather be fishing.

Instead of explaining to my daughters that their grandfather (my awesome father in law) has terminal cancer. He hasn't smoked in 35 years and gets lung cancer at 63. Easier to complain about here...

I've been blessed with the ability to make the roughest man or beast tremble in fear simply by my presence so that has never been an issue for me. Frees me up to carry more snacks. :-)

Stopped in the outlet store of a local specialty outdoor retailer today. For some capilene base layers and saw a couple nice vests. Wondering how useful they would be instead of a dedicated fly...

I think I'm going to bag the Gheenoe idea. John boats are so much easier to find locally and I can upgrade motors seats etc more easily and not worry every time I graze a rock about knocking a hole...

Ok the guide I used on the little red thinks the little red said the gheenoe would be a great boat for me and my daughter to use. I may go look at it.
