Re: Predator by NFO

Joni,

I put a portable fish finder on my Scadden Outlaw Escape. I used a small piece of PVC with a couple rubber straps.

Super light and super easy. I just slide the fish finder in the holder...

Re: Fish alone or with friends?

I have come to a point where I love to fish by myself! I love the peace and quiet, and I seem to enjoy fishing a lot more than most!

I purchased a pontoon / float tube hybrid mostly because I can...

Re: Lake fishing with a sink tip line

They are a lot harder to cast and fish with. I took off my sink tip and put floating line back on.

Today I was out catchin' like crazy with a WF floating line. At twilight the 'gills move to the...

Joni,

Wow! I have the smaller "brother" a Outlaw Escape. I have the same valves and oar holders (although I usually never take the oars) I like to kick the Scadden "Omega" flip fins when I'm fly...

Ard,

Wow! I know we had some "wacky weather" but that is ridiculous!

Lake fishing with a sink tip line

I put some 4wt fast sink tip line (they don't seem to make a 3wt sink line?) on my 3wt today and fished a lake filled with bluegills and bass.

I bought the line last year for streamer fishing for...

Re: Furled Leaders

I use them, and they are great! but I really like a regular loop leader better.

I like a tippet ring (check Google, they are popular in UK) and you can Uni or Clinch a new tippet in a couple...

Re: lifetime warranty rods / outfits?

I use a Helios (also a $800 rod) and it has a lifetime warranty and it's the "lightest" and best casting rod in the world!

Orvis is the best fly company by far, and lifetime warranties are a...

Re: It's officially gill time!

Nick,

I had a Orvis Superfine 1wt for the past 2 years. Before the Touch, they were called "Trout Bum" and only had a ring handle. That rod changed my life with fly fishing fun!

I broke that...

Re: Inflatable PDF's

I purchased one of those Cabela's auto pfd. They came out last year and used to have a big discount sale.

The first time I used it, I fell head first into the cold water! It works pretty good, but...

Re: Feathers vs Soft Plastic

Ard,

I believe that the soft plastic just looks better to the fisherman, that's why so many keep buying them.

In my first pic, the beautiful Micro Spoon plastic has beautiful eyes and a thin...

Re: I'm so tired of getting ripped off!

I agree, I was just sayin' how cheap Chinese fly stuff is everywhere! And I should say that I love Orvis ........ and WalMart!

Feathers vs Soft Plastic

I have a scientific background, and I like to analyze things ..... especially with my fly fishing.

I've been catchin' nearly 100 big Bluegills every time I go fishing. Both with a UL spin rod (2lb...

Re: I'm so tired of getting ripped off!

I was being serious, Hardy!

I mentioned that I paid $800 for my Helios fly rod. Fly fishing is my passion, and I'll spend whatever I have to with fly tackle. I first went to the two closest Orvis...

Re: Fly Shop Needed

Nick,

That's a good thing, dude! You said you have a float tube, so take it with you when you go fishing.

If there was easy access, the fish would decrease big time! The only reason I catch so...

Re: I'm so tired of getting ripped off!

LOL! Yeah, it was cold and windy the last couple days and I was upset with my Frog Hair Fluorocarbon tippet. I got the 6X, and they must have put 1X in that spool! My fault? I purchased for $20 and...

I'm so tired of getting ripped off!

First, let me qualify this by saying that I fish with a Orvis Helios (a $800 rod) and a Orvis Large Arbor reel ($200) and I have a "top shelf" pontoon and waders? I've lost my mind and pay "big...

Re: Longevity of waders

I've tried most of them, and they all leak after a year or so (I go fly fishing all the time, and I give them pretty heavy use).

All waders always leak at the seams, which you can glue to fix...
