Re: Best TFO Rod for trout (5 WT)

A 9' 5wt is a good solid rod to get started with. Good luck with it, and tight lines!

Re: Best TFO Rod for trout (5 WT)

That was my thinking. If you start with a medium fast, you will be able to determine if you would rather go faster action or slower action. To me, starting with a medium action means less struggle...

Re: Favorite Trout Recipe ??

We used to do that too. Good stuff. I still use the that recipe minus the rosemary and throw on the grill once in awhile, if we keep any, which isn't too often.

Re: Best TFO Rod for trout (5 WT)

I have the TFO Pro 1 in 8'6" 4wt and love it. The 2 would be a great rod to start with in 5wt.

Re: How to learn to use a soft rod?

While I have never cast the CT (I do want one) I understand it's a slower, or more "full flex" rod and a flick of the wrist just isn't gonna work. It will be a big change from a fast action as the...

Re: Need some reviews tfo bvk or tfo large larbor

I don't know how to clarify it any better than the TFO large arbor 375 is for the 8-10 wt rods. Says so right on the website. If you look at the capacity it says
250 yards/20lb./WF8F
The WF8F is...

Re: Need some reviews tfo bvk or tfo large larbor

The 'Large Arbor Reel' is for 8-10wt if I am reading the specs correctly. the 'Prism Cast' model TFR P CLA 5/6 would work on a 5wt, the 'HSR' model TFR HSR 1 would also be for a 5wt. I have nothing...

I had been eyeing this reel for a while now, just didnt have the ching to drop on another reel for my 4 wt. The Trout 2 is a nice reel out of the box, and 'clicks' both directions which I like....

Re: Fly rod for a 13 year old

I have the wind river reel, and like it. Also consider the Cabelas three forks rod/combo. Gets great reviews for a cheaper rod. Performs like a rod costing twice as much or so I have heard.

Re: Just fishing

X3. I am Definatly not the 'elitist' fly fisherman. I'm just a redneck that likes to fly fish. And I don't care if I don't have a high $$ rod n reel rig or look like a Orvis ad. I just want to enjoy...
