Re: Rock Slide!

Great story!!!

I lived in South Central LA (Dorsey High School) for a number of year before I fly fished. I am truly amazed you can find trout near that metropolis. I hope you have cell phone...

I am not going to make specific rod recommendations, but I do have some comments.

From what you have written and others have responded, you want to go to a longer rod for nymphing and both a...

Re: Davy Knot and Double Davy Knot

For the a same reason you loop knot a Rapala. It allows a streamer to move freely.

I fact, most loop knots are tied for streamer fishing & salt water fishing. Sometimes for nymph fishing....

Re: How to make a fly reel heavier?

What I do when walking through woods to the stream is to thread the rod, add the fly and wrap the tippet back down and around the rod a couple of times. Then hook the fly to a guide. Carry the rod...

Re: How to make a fly reel heavier?

I am not in favor of adding weight to a rod/reel system unless it is absolutely necessary. Any added weight makes casting more difficult.

Only if moving your hand up and down the handle cannot...

Re: Sage RPL fly rod

Here are a few Sage RPLs on Ebay. Fair market price seems to be between $200-300. At those prices, I would test cast your friend's VXP and if you like it, get a new VXP. The Sage warranty applies...

Re: Sage RPL fly rod
