Re: Would you fish these flies?

On small streams, the flies that look buggier seem to do better.

I would keep and display most of them, but I would be tempted to at least try one of each.

If they work, tie up some more...or...

Re: Whitlock's Red Fox Squirrel-Hair Nymph

I'm pretty much a dry fly fisher, but I use it as stated above..."...just as the runoff is starting and the waters start to color up a bit and again when runoff starts to recede."

I don't use them...

Re: Sage LL 279-2 thoughts?

Re: Difference between TMF and WT?

When they went to the WT blank, I feel it changed the action of the rod.

The older IM6 Loomis and Fisher blanks had the action that Morgan designed.

Re: Line for Winston Tom Morgan Favorite

All my rods have this kind of action...and I search for more!

Re: October Caption Competition sponsored by Allen Fly Fishing

A new hair do and shorts; 250.00, a trip to the South Pacific for tropical fishing; 4,500, forgetting all your fishing gear; Priceless!

Re: Match the hatch???

I showed up to my stream the other day, and the first thing I see is a spent wing floating down stream. I snatched it up and it appeared to be a med. brown color, so tied on a black/gray spent wing...

Sometimes I sit back and watch to see if a hatch or trout rise, but most times I tie on one of...

Re: Rod Suggestions ultimate trout rod

A lot of good choices posted.

I prefer the older classic rods with a slower action;

Blanks made by Fisher were made up to serial # 11,959

Loomis up to # 43,499 and then in house after that using the WT blank.
