Well thanks to everyone on this site I now don't have a go to rod because I have two new superfine touch's on the way. First is a 8' 4wt and a 9' 6wt. Actually it is nobody fault but Orvis's fault....

We do have several smaller trout streams in Missouri that a 3wt would probably be just fine and I do love catching panfish with my girls. In fact, I'd say that is what I fish for 75% of the time.
