Re: For bass?? Lefty Kreh TiCr X Series

I have the 8wt TFO you are looking at and I can tell youit is a beast. It is probably more than you will ever need but it serves its purpose. I have a 9wt bass bug line on it and it tamed it quit a...

Re: Video of the Colorado Division of Wildlife air dropping Cutthroats

I think this is fascinating. I just want to know who decided to do this for the first time.

Re: Fly fishing bass

I wouldn't go with anything less than 10lb. I use a furled leader with a 3-4ft piece of 10lb on the end. Works just fine. Bass don't seem to be to picky, just chuck something out there.

Re: 9', #5 Rods - master of nothing....

I did the 5wt for a while but then I found my love, a 6wt 9' Orvis Superfine touch. It, for me, is the best of both worlds. I get the slow action I desired but could carry a heavier line for the...

Re: orvis superfine touch or Hardy lightweight

I love both of my Orvis SFT. I have a 9'0 6wt and an 8' 4wt. Orvis is now making the SFT in glass now. I haven't cast it yet for fear that I will love it too much. Love all the slower rods. I...

Re: 6wt Recommendation

Love my Orvis SFT in 6wt although it may be a little slower than you are searching for. GREAT rod bit it is a bit limited for bigger streamers. It has great feel though.

Re: What length bass leader

I second the bull whip furled leader. Works great and lasts a really long time. You can turn over almost any flies you want

Re: Cutthroat leaders

Love them. I won't go back to tapered leaders again. So much easier for me.

Re: Dropper Hopper rig

My favorite dropper rig is an elk hair caddis and a beadhead zebra midge. Second would be an attractor pattern and a green wire copper john. I tie them to the bend of the hook also

Re: Anybody heard of "The Fly Stop"?

I buy from them all the time and they have great prices. They seem like a great company. I would try to support a local fly shop but there aren't many to close. I can fill up the fly box for a lot...

Re: Vest or chest pack?

Love my Orvis sling pack. It keeps me from loading down to the point of being uncomfortable and it doesn't get in the way.

Re: Winston WT or Orvis Superfine Touch 7 1/2 ft 4wt

I have casted both when I was in my search for my slow rods and I now own an 8' 4wt and 9' 6wt superfine touch. They just seemed like the rod for me and seemed to flex that perfect speed. Price was...

Re: Good Reel for a Sage Zxl 4 weight.

Another fan of the Abel products! Creek 2 on my 4wt superfine touch and an Abel Big Game 1 on my 6wt Superfine touch. As you can see, I don't branch out much. I like what I like.
