Re: stuck ferrule

Jim,
I have a 6wt TFO that has done the same.
Four piece, bottom section just wont give and at this point I treat it like a two piece rod.
I have tried every method mentioned and still no love,...

fictitious,
I am not certain of all that is offered around these parts, but Western Rivers Flyfisher offers classes from time to time and is about as reputable of a fly shop as you will find...

Re: Green, Provo, Weber?

Larry for the most part I was kidding about tagging along, mainly I was just pointing out that the direction you were guiding him is a decent option. I just figured he was eyeing the Gorge area when...

Re: Green, Provo, Weber?

From my experience and for what it is worth, the fishing was tough this last weekend below the Gorge, 10 days from now it could be a whole new game. Hatches are not a big player this time of year,...

Re: How long does it take from your home to the water?

For day trips I could be fishing trout, in less than 5 minutes, however I rarely find myself fishing here in the city.
It only goes up from there, the fishing gets better about 20 or 25 minutes...

Re: Southfork Snake River

It really is amazing with all the high tech stuff I have purchased along the way, that this is what I choose to use.
It is small, fits in my pocket and takes decent pictures, I am no photographer...

Re: Green River

Larry,
While it is something to take serious and respect, I honestly feel that it is an easier float when up high like this. All the rocks are under and the rapids are just big rollers.
Now I know...

Re: Wet wading shoe?

IMO the best wet wading boot is your current wading boot with a guard sock.
If you already have wading boots a pair of guard socks will give you the support and comfort you need. Your not going to...

Southfork Snake River

Spent six days up in Idaho on the South Fork this last week and it was fishing pretty well to say the least!

Green River

Its been a super fishy spring/summer so far this year, but yet it has been a while since I last posted. So with cicadas still out, I figure this is still a worthy report. A little while back me and a...

Re: Snake or Teton guided trip Labor Day weekend?

IMO that sounds about right, the snake is much better from a boat and you would be better off on foot fishing the Teton or renting the "Yak".
Have fun and be safe!

Watson

Re: Green River float trip '14

coloradocaddis970,
Another thing that comes to mind is to keep an eye on Red Creek, depending on seasonal flows or weather, it can completely blow out the second half of the B section all the way...
