Re: Sage Approach 5 wt?

I haven't cast the Approach but if it is the "Advantage" with a new label, I would love it. I have a 5 weight Advantage, medium action and don't consider it heavy at all. Very smooth to cast for me...

Re: Rods You Just Can't Part With

My first fly rod...a Browning Silaflex, 7/8/9 weight. Feels like a broom handle compared to anything else I have. Fished it twice and can't bring myself to fish it again. I call it my "ugly stick"! I...

Re: 4wt fiberglass vs graphite

I own and fish both glass and graphite in a 4 weight. Love and enjoy both but tend to favor glass for small brook trout. You have to decide what's best for you. :thumbsupu

Re: 3wt for small streams, dry flies and swinging wets.

IMHO, don't get hung up on the term "discontinued" rods. I have been using a Sage ZXL 7'-6" 3 weight for small streams and rivers and wouldn't part with it. I find the 3 weight a little light in...

New Tyer-Need Your Opinion

I started tying last year and was frustrated with the results. Seem to be all thumbs and so I stopped. With the help of UTube, I thought that I would give it another go and have put some pics into an...

Re: The Keystone XL Pipeline's Cousin... Line 61

As a Canadian I find these comments a little offensive. In addition I feel that the means of extraction of the "Oil Sands" as it is called is not half as bad for our and your water systems as the...
