I have a few days off starting this Friday and the missus (& me) would like to go away from town and annoy some trout.

Where should we go?
Is the South fork of the St. Vrain fishable this time of...

Yes. I was in the Deckers area. The "Salida" road is W Pine Creek road. The resort is Deckers resort, where 126 splits off from 67.

No one at Deckers on the Salida road but later, nearer the resort it was quite full.
Did not matter, got skunked. Only saw two fish, the ones I spooked when I arrived.:mad:

Or: It is a great way to enjoy the river. You get to annoy the fish but don't have to clean them....

I believe they are so airplane pilots can see power lines.
I see them a lot in Colorado wherever power lines stretch across a valley.

Thinking of fishing the blue on October 16th.

In Colorado I'd be more concerned with mountain lion than bears.

That reminds me of the sign at Waterton Canyon warning hikers that there are mountain lions in the area. Then there is a sign...

Well, we did not go so far up since I had to get back to work.
We fished after the third tunnel. The river was lovely but I only saw one fish and there were no takers for our flies.
