Re: Question about fly fishing in Colorado

The 14 day limit applies in Colorado also. I would suggest you decide what part of the state you want to fish. Then start researching the rivers and streams. Buy some maps that show N.F. I find the...

Re: Denver area?

a 9' 5wt is the perfect rod for Colorado. I'm not familiar with the "Denver Area" but if you have wheels and want to drive 1 1/2 hours, you can hit the South Platte where they call it the dream...

Re: How long do you fight them ?

I never fished for the crome rockets but as with any fish, you shouldn't fight them any longer then nessary to land them and return them to the water if your not keeping them. Over playing a fish on...

Re: Catch and release or catch and eat?

That is a big debate among fishermen here is Colorado. For us, fish is a limited resource. I am personally for the most part catch and release. I may keep 1 out of every 125 trout I catch on average...

Re: New crappie pickerel hybrid!

I agree! The pictures of the pickerel that I seen before (Looks like a gar fish) and crappie are no where close to looking like the 2 could be mixed like that.

Re: more snook on the fly

That's a bummer! I hope your motor isn't expensive to repair. I made my trip to La. I caught 3 reds, none on a fly.:icon_cry: It was slow fishing for the reds. We caught a bunch of catfish and...

Re: How about some KNOT know how!

I posted this link because it is the first on I found, but invest in one of these. It comes with instructions on different knots. I use it to tie on leaders and tie my line to my backing. It's a Tie...

Re: New to Saltwater Fly Fishing (need help)

I think the shop in New Orleans is Orvis. I'm going home on the 27th (Lafourche Parish) and hope to catch some Reds and Specks.
